Smile came from a place where no dog should have to live.
She was one of 24 dogs rescued from a hoarding house, surrounded by neglect, sickness, and fear. Many of the dogs were suffering from serious health problems, including mange. Some were pregnant. All of them needed help.

The At-Choo Foundation in California helped rescue Smile and the other dogs from those terrible conditions. When No Dog Left Behind in Minnesota heard about her, they knew she needed a chance far away from the misery she had known.
When Smile arrived in Minnesota, her condition shocked the team.
She was so thin that it was hard to believe she was carrying puppies. Her body had been pushed too far by neglect, stress, and poor care. Then came the most painful part of her story.
