Dekin was the kind of puppy that made everyone smile.

He was small, fluffy, and snow-white, with bright eyes full of curiosity and a tiny tail that never stopped wagging. Everywhere he went, he brought energy and joy. He chased toy balls, played with his own shadow, and followed his owner around the house as if she were the center of his universe.

To Dekin, life was simple.

Love your family.

Stay close.

Be happy.

One afternoon, while playing alone in the living room, Dekin spotted a colorful ball rolling across the floor. Excited, he raced after it.

The ball bounced beneath a table.

Without thinking, the little puppy jumped forward.

His tiny body bumped into a wooden stand.

For a brief second, everything stood still.

Then came a crash.

A large flower vase fell from the stand and shattered across the floor.

The sound echoed through the house.

Dekin froze.

His ears flattened.

His tail stopped wagging.

He looked at the broken pieces and then toward the hallway, confused and frightened.

A moment later, the owner rushed into the room.

When she saw the shattered vase, anger immediately filled her face.

Dekin slowly lowered his head and took a cautious step forward.

Perhaps she would understand it was an accident.

Perhaps she would forgive him.

Instead, she exploded with rage.

She shouted so loudly that the puppy began trembling.

Before Dekin could run away, a powerful kick struck his small body.

The impact sent him sliding across the floor.

He cried out in pain.

Then came another blow.

And another.

The terrified puppy tried to hide beneath a chair.

But fear made him too slow.

When the woman finally stopped, Dekin lay curled up on the floor, shaking uncontrollably.

One of his eyes had swollen badly.

His front leg throbbed with pain.

When he tried to stand, he immediately stumbled.

The leg was injured.

Every step hurt.

Yet staying felt even scarier.

So the little puppy limped toward the open front door.

One painful step at a time.

His vision blurred by tears.

His injured eye nearly closed shut.

His leg dragged slightly as he moved.

And without looking back, Dekin left the only home he had ever known.

The streets were loud and unfamiliar.

Cars rushed past.

People hurried by without noticing the tiny injured puppy limping along the sidewalk.

His fluffy white fur quickly became dirty with dust and mud.

As the sun began to set, the pain grew worse.

His swollen eye made it difficult to see.

His injured leg barely supported his weight.

Still, Dekin kept moving.

Because he was afraid.

Afraid of going back.

Afraid of being hurt again.

Eventually, exhaustion overcame him.

The little puppy collapsed beneath a bus stop bench.

Cold wind swept through the empty street.

His stomach growled with hunger.

His body ached.

And for the first time in his young life, he was completely alone.

Yet every few minutes, Dekin would lift his head and stare down the road.

Part of him still hoped.

Maybe his owner would come looking for him.

Maybe she would realize he was missing.

Maybe she would call his name.

But nobody came.

Hours passed.

Darkness covered the city.

The tiny puppy remained beneath the bench, trembling from both fear and cold.

The next morning, a woman walking her dog noticed something unusual.

A pair of sad eyes stared out from beneath the bench.

When she knelt down, she saw a small white puppy.

One eye was swollen shut.

One leg was injured.

His fur was filthy.

And yet, despite everything, his tail moved slightly when he saw her.

The woman immediately called a local rescue group.

When rescuers arrived, they carefully wrapped Dekin in a warm blanket.

The puppy was terrified.

Every sudden movement made him flinch.

Every raised hand caused him to shrink back.

It was obvious he had recently suffered something terrible.

At the veterinary clinic, doctors confirmed that his leg had been badly injured and his eye was severely bruised.

The road to recovery would take time.

But for the first time in days, Dekin was safe.

Weeks passed.

His injuries slowly healed.

The swelling around his eye disappeared.

His limp became less noticeable.

And little by little, the frightened puppy began trusting people again.

Then one morning, a volunteer entered the shelter carrying a toy ball.

The moment Dekin saw it, something incredible happened.

His tail began wagging.

He carefully nudged the ball with his nose.

Then chased it across the room.

For the first time since the day of the accident, he played again.

Months later, Dekin found a loving family.

A family that never shouted.

Never hit.

Never punished him for being a curious puppy.

Today, he sleeps on a soft bed, surrounded by people who adore him.

And whenever he accidentally knocks something over, his family simply laughs and cleans up the mess.

Because they understand something his old owner never did:

A broken vase can be replaced.

But a broken heart is much harder to heal.

And little Dekin had already suffered enough.
