Bimo Was Still Healthy When He Was Taken to the Pet Care Clinic… But When His Owner Came Back, He Was No Longer Breathing

That morning, Bimo was still perfectly healthy.

The little brown-and-white dog ran around the living room, his tail wagging nonstop as soon as he saw his owner pick up the leash. His fur was a little messy after going a while without a bath, but his eyes were bright, his body was energetic, and every step he took was full of excitement.

Bimo thought he was going out for something fun.

He jumped beside his owner’s legs, looking up with cheerful eyes at the person he trusted most. To Bimo, every trip outside the house was a happy moment. He did not know where he was being taken that day. He only knew that if his owner was beside him, everything would be fine.

His owner lifted Bimo into the car.

During the drive, Bimo pressed his nose against the window, curiously watching the road ahead. On the seat beside them was a small bag containing a towel, his collar, and an appointment slip for a bath and grooming session at a veterinary pet care clinic.

His owner only wanted Bimo to be cleaner.

He wanted him bathed, his tangled fur trimmed, and then to come happily back home that same afternoon, just like always.

No one could have imagined that this ordinary trip would become the last time Bimo ever saw his home.

When they arrived at the clinic, Bimo still stood happily by his owner’s feet. He was not afraid. His little tail wagged gently when a staff member came out to take the leash. The worker bent down, patted Bimo on the head, and said his owner could come back in just a few hours to pick him up.

Bimo turned his head to look at his owner.

His eyes were still full of trust.

Maybe he thought his owner was only leaving for a little while. Maybe he believed that once the bath was done, the door would open again, and his owner would be there smiling and calling his name.

Bimo walked into the clinic with all the obedience of a dog who had never had any reason to doubt people.

In the back area, the sounds of blow dryers, running water, and barking dogs filled the room. Bimo was placed on the bathing table. He trembled a little because the place was unfamiliar, but he stayed still as a staff member rinsed water over his small body.

At first, everything seemed normal.

Bimo was only a little nervous.

He remained gentle and patient, waiting for each step of the grooming process to end so he could go home.

After the bath, Bimo was placed inside a drying cage in the corner of the room. The door was shut. His fur was still wet. His eyes followed the employee as they turned away to take care of other dogs.

Bimo did not understand how dangerous that cage could become if no one monitored it carefully.

He only stood there.

Quietly.

Waiting for someone to come back and look at him.

Time passed.

The heat inside the cage slowly became suffocating. At first, Bimo simply breathed a little faster. Then he began panting, his tongue hanging out, his little body trembling with discomfort.

He scratched lightly at the cage door.

Once.

Then again.

Those weak scratching sounds were swallowed by the noise of machines, people moving around, and the busyness of the room behind him.

Bimo began struggling to breathe.

He tried to stand, then sank back down. His fur was drying, but his body was growing weaker by the minute. His eyes widened as he looked through the bars of the cage, as if searching for a familiar face.

Bimo did not know who to call.

He did not know what to do to make them understand that he was in danger.

All he could do was endure it.

Because he believed his owner would come back for him.

At home, his owner looked at the time and picked up the phone to call the clinic. On the other end, someone answered quickly and said Bimo was still being cared for, asking him to come a little later.

His owner felt uneasy.

But he trusted them.

He trusted that Bimo was being cared for by people who knew what they were doing. He trusted that Bimo was fine, still being bathed and dried properly, still waiting to be taken home.

He had no idea that in the back room, Bimo was slowly slipping away.

If he had known Bimo was suffering in there, he would have rushed over immediately.

But everything was said as if Bimo were still safe.

By the time one staff member finally returned to the drying cages, it was already too late.

The cage door was opened.

Bimo was lying on his side inside.

His eyes were half closed. His small body no longer responded. There was no more desperate panting. No more weak scratching. No more little tail that had wagged so happily that morning.

The whole room suddenly turned chaotic.

People called out to each other.

Someone quickly lifted Bimo out.

But panic at that moment could not bring him back.

If only someone had checked sooner.

If only someone had stopped when he scratched at the cage door.

If only someone had remembered that a small living soul had been left alone inside.

Maybe Bimo would not have had to die in fear.

When his owner walked into the clinic, he was still holding Bimo’s leash and familiar collar in his hand.

He was still waiting for the moment Bimo would come running out like always.

He still thought Bimo would rush to his feet, tail wagging nonstop, his fur clean and fluffy after the grooming session.

But behind the counter, the employees stood in silence.

No one called Bimo’s name.

No one brought him out right away.

The air inside the clinic felt unbearably heavy.

Then one employee stepped forward.

In their arms was Bimo, wrapped in a white towel.

His fur had been freshly cleaned.

But his body hung limp.

There was no life left in him.

His owner stood frozen.

His eyes widened, and his trembling hands reached forward as if he could not believe that the dog in that white towel was really his Bimo.

The leash slipped from his hand and fell to the floor.

That morning, Bimo had still been healthy in his arms.

Just a few hours later, he was being returned in silence, without a single breath left.

His owner collapsed onto the clinic floor, clutching Bimo in his arms.

He called his name through tears.

“Bimo… Bimo…”

But the little dog no longer lifted his head.

He no longer licked his owner’s hand.

He no longer leaned into him the way he always did when being picked up.

His owner’s hand stroked the clean fur that had just been dried. That cleanliness somehow made the pain even crueler. Bimo had been brought there to be cared for, to be made neat and soft and fresh again.

But he was never coming home.

What hurt the owner most was that he had personally handed Bimo over to the very people who were supposed to protect him.

He had trusted them.

Bimo had trusted them too.

And that trust ended in a silence that could never be undone.

That night, Bimo’s house was painfully quiet.

His food bowl was still in the corner of the kitchen.

His little toy still lay beside the sofa.

His soft bed still carried the shape of where he used to curl up and sleep every night.

Everything was exactly where it had always been.

Except Bimo never came back.

His owner placed Bimo’s collar on his old blanket and lowered his head, breaking down in tears. The room that had once been filled with the sound of tiny paws now felt unbearably empty.

There are goodbyes people never realize will be the last.

Bimo left the house with bright eyes and a happy wagging tail.

He walked into that clinic full of trust.

He waited for his owner to come back for him.

But behind those back doors, between loud machines and human negligence, a small life was forgotten until there was no breath left.

Bimo did not need anything extraordinary.

He only needed to be watched.

To be checked on.

To be protected the way people had promised when they took him in for care.

But that promise came too late.

And Bimo never got the chance to run through his front door one more time.
