Today is my birthday.
I don’t really know how to feel happy anymore.
I sit in a small corner, staring through cold iron bars. Outside is a world I can only see, never touch, never run toward.
I don’t have a beautiful birthday cake.
No laughter.
No familiar hugs.
Just another day like all the rest… yet somewhere inside me, I still hope something will be different.
I once heard that birthdays are supposed to be the most special day of the year.
A day when someone is loved a little more than usual.
But today, I don’t ask for anything that big.
I only wish someone would notice me.
A gentle glance.
A small birthday wish.
A little kindness.
I watch people pass by.
Some stop for a few seconds and then leave.
Some don’t look at me at all.
And I wonder… do I even deserve to be celebrated?
Then I hear a quiet voice inside me:
“Just a little love… that would be enough.”
If you are reading this,
please give me a birthday wish.
Nothing more.
Just one simple sentence would make today feel so much warmer.
Just say: Happy Birthday.
