Shouting echoed across the empty railway area.
A thin dog with dirty, wet fur ran in panic along the tracks. Behind him came angry voices, hurried footsteps, and cruel attempts to chase him away until he no longer knew where to run.
He was not running because he was naughty.
He was running because he was terrified.
Maybe he had only come close to look for food. Maybe he just wanted a quiet place to rest after days of wandering. But instead of compassion, he was chased straight toward the railway tracks — a place where one wrong step could cost him his life.
The little dog tried to run forward, his paws slipping against the cold metal rails. He kept looking back, his eyes wide with fear. The more they chased him, the more confused he became.
Then, from far away, a train horn suddenly screamed.
The train was coming.
The ground began to shake.
The sound grew louder and louder.
But the dog was still on the tracks.
For a few seconds, he froze as if fear had locked his entire body in place. Behind him were the people chasing him. In front of him was the train rushing closer. He did not know which way to turn. He only stepped back, then stumbled forward again in panic.
Everyone who saw it stopped breathing.
The horn screamed again.
The dog finally tried to run, but one of his paws slipped between the rough rails and he nearly fell. He struggled desperately, his body shaking, while the train came closer with terrifying speed.
At that moment, a man standing nearby rushed toward the tracks without thinking. He shouted, waved his arms, and forced the dog toward the grassy edge. Then he pulled him off the rails just seconds before the train thundered past.

A violent gust of wind threw dust into the air.
The metal wheels screamed against the tracks.
And the little dog collapsed on the grass, trembling uncontrollably and panting as if his heart could not slow down.
He did not bark.
He did not fight.
He only curled into himself, his eyes still filled with the terror of almost dying.
The most heartbreaking part is that he almost lost his life not because of an accident.
But because humans had chased him to the edge of death.
A stray dog already has to survive hunger, thirst, loneliness, and the danger of the streets. But even his chance to live was nearly taken from him by cruelty and indifference.
After he was saved, the dog lay still for a long time, as if he could not believe he was alive. The man gently lifted him, stroked his dirty fur, and whispered:
“It’s okay now… you’re safe.”
Maybe the dog did not understand every word.
But he understood that this hand was not chasing him away.
It was not pushing him toward death.
It was pulling him back from the edge.
This story is a painful reminder that one cruel action can push a helpless life into deadly danger. A dog cannot speak, but he can feel fear. He can feel pain. He can panic when he is trapped with nowhere to go.
May this little dog never have to run in terror again.
And may this time, after escaping the wheels of the train, he also escape a life filled only with being chased away.
