On the side of a crowded street, beneath broken walls and piles of trash, lived a small mother dog with golden-white fur stained by dirt and rain. No one knew exactly what had happened to her, but both of her back legs were gone.
Every movement was painful.
She could no longer run.
She could no longer jump.
All she could do was drag her tiny body across the cold pavement using her two front legs.
But despite the pain… every single day, she still went out searching for food.
Because waiting for her, hidden beneath an abandoned shack, were four tiny puppies.
Her babies.
Every morning before sunrise, the mother dog slowly crawled onto the streets. Cars rushed past her. People barely noticed her. Some looked away. Some pitied her. Others simply ignored her existence.
Still, she kept going.
Her front paws became raw and wounded from dragging herself over rough concrete day after day. Sometimes she searched for hours and found nothing except a few scraps near garbage bins.
Yet she never ate first.
No matter how hungry she was, she always carried the food back to her puppies.
One stormy night, the rain poured harder than ever. Thunder shook the sky while freezing winds swept through the empty streets. Most animals had already found shelter.
But the mother dog was still outside.
Someone from a small food stall had thrown away a bag containing leftover rice and meat. The mother dog grabbed the soaked plastic bag gently in her mouth.
Then she began the long journey home.
Step by step…
Drag by drag…
Her weak body scraped against the flooded road as rainwater poured over her fur. Mud covered her chest and paws. Several times she slipped into puddles, nearly losing the bag of food.
But every time she fell, she struggled back up again.
Because she knew her babies were hungry.
From far away, a man standing beneath a store awning noticed her.
At first, he thought she was just another stray dog.
But when he saw her dragging her body through the storm while refusing to let go of the food bag in her mouth, his heart shattered.
He quietly followed her.
The mother dog crawled for nearly thirty minutes before finally reaching a broken wooden shelter near an alleyway.
And there, four tiny puppies immediately rushed toward her, wagging their tails and crying happily.
The mother dog gently dropped the bag in front of them.
Only after all four puppies began eating did she finally lie down quietly in the corner, exhausted and trembling from the cold.
The man could no longer hold back his tears.
Even without two legs…
Even while suffering every single day…
A mother’s love still carried her through the storm.
