Rosie was found where no dog should ever be left.
The two-year-old pup arrived at The City of Mobile Animal Services after police discovered her abandoned in a wire crate on the side of the road. Whoever left her there gave her no food, no water, and no explanation. They simply drove away, leaving Rosie alone in a cage as if her life no longer mattered.
When she arrived at the shelter, her sadness was impossible to miss.
Rosie looked like she understood she had been unwanted. Her eyes carried the heavy confusion of a dog who had lost the people she trusted and could not understand why they never came back.
At only 35 pounds, Rosie is gentle, sweet, and easy to love. Staff say there is nothing to dislike about her. She does well with people and other animals, and despite the heartbreak she has been through, she has not lost her soft nature.
But Rosie is struggling.
She needs to gain weight. She needs quiet. She needs safety. Most of all, she needs a home where she can finally rest without the noise and stress of a busy shelter pressing in around her.
A shelter is never easy for a sensitive dog, and Rosie is not the kind of girl who can simply ignore the chaos. The barking, the movement, the uncertainty — all of it weighs on a dog who has already been abandoned in one of the cruelest ways.

According to her rescuers, she may come to her future family with a “wealth of knowledge about space science.” It is a playful way to describe the sweet personality seen in her video — as if Rosie, after surviving heartbreak on Earth, is ready to teach her new humans about the moon, the stars, and how hope can still shine in the darkest places.
She still deserves a family who will look at her and see more than an abandoned dog. She deserves someone who sees a loyal companion, a gentle soul, and perhaps even a tiny four-legged astronomer ready to fill a home with wonder.
Rosie needs approved rescue organizations, friends, family, and social media contacts to help share her story. Sharing can be the difference between a dog being overlooked and a dog finally being chosen.
